Optimizing higher-order network topology for synchronization of coupled phase oscillators

چکیده
Abstract Networks in nature have complex interactions among agents. One significant phenomenon induced by is synchronization of coupled agents, and the interactive network topology can be tuned to optimize synchronization. Previous studies showed that optimized conventional with pairwise favors a homogeneous degree distribution nodes for undirected interactions, always structurally asymmetric directed interactions. However, optimal control on prevailing higher-order less explored. Here, considering hypergraph Kuramoto model 2-hyperlink we find synchronizability may distinct properties. For networks simulated annealing tend become nodes’ generalized degree. We further rigorously demonstrate structural symmetry preserved optimally synchronizable The results suggest controlling leads phenomena beyond

Synchronization of coupled Boolean phase oscillators.
We design, characterize, and couple Boolean phase oscillators that include state-dependent feedback delay. The state-dependent delay allows us to realize an adjustable coupling strength, even though only Boolean signals are exchanged. Specifically, increasing the coupling strength via the range of state-dependent delay leads to larger locking ranges in uni- and bidirectional coupling of oscilla...
متن کاملStochastic synchronization in globally coupled phase oscillators.
Cooperative effects of periodic force and noise in globally coupled systems are studied using a nonlinear diffusion equation for the number density. The amplitude of the order parameter oscillation is enhanced in an intermediate range of noise strength for a globally coupled bistable system, and the order parameter oscillation is entrained to the external periodic force in an intermediate range...
متن کاملPeriodic phase synchronization in coupled chaotic oscillators.
We investigate the characteristics of temporal phase locking states observed in the route to phase synchronization. It is found that before phase synchronization there is a periodic phase synchronization state characterized by periodic appearance of temporal phase-locking state and that the state leads to local negativeness in one of the vanishing Lyapunov exponents. By taking a statistical mea...
متن کاملSlowly Coupled Oscillators: Phase Dynamics and Synchronization
In this paper we extend the results of Frankel and Kiemel [SIAM J. Appl. Math, 53 (1993), pp. 1436–1446] to a network of slowly coupled oscillators. First, we use Malkin’s theorem to derive a canonical phase model that describes synchronization properties of a slowly coupled network. Then, we illustrate the result using slowly coupled oscillators (1) near Andronov–Hopf bifurcations, (2) near sa...
متن کاملSynchronization of weakly coupled oscillators: coupling, delay and topology
There are three key factors in a system of coupled oscillators that characterize the interaction between them: coupling (how to affect), delay (when to affect) and topology (whom to affect). The existing work on each of these factors has mainly focused on special cases. With new angles and tools, this paper makes progress in relaxing some assumptions on these factors. There are three main resul...
